Welcome

On behalf of the Washington University Interfraternity Council, welcome to our website! We hope that this website will serve both Greeks and non-Greeks alike with important dates and announcements, resources for member development, answers to frequently asked questions about Greek life, and links to each of our active fratenities at Wash. U.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) acts as the governing body of the twelve fraternities at Washington University in St. Louis. We on IFC are a semi-autonomous group of active fraternity members responsible for everything from member education, Greek programming, service opportunities, and judicial administration of incidents involving Greek members and organizations. Please refer to the Resources section for our Council's bylaws and constitution.

Each of our twelve active fraternities has its own unique traditions, customs, and rituals. Fraternities compete against one another in Intramural Sports, at our annual Greek Week, and in many of our successful philanthropy events. As Greeks, however, we strive to fulfill the common values we all share: integrity, loyalty, philanthropy, responsibility, friendship, and intellectual curiosity.  The men of Greek Organizations hold themselves to a higher standard. In academics, Greeks not only match their non-Greek counterparts, but continuously outperform them. Many are leaders and role models both in the University and St. Louis communities. Few organizations on campus can even begin to match the amount of money raised and hours of service that Greeks contribute annually to charitable organizations. Greeks are class presidents, varsity athletes, 4.0 students, Resident Advisors, and everything in between.

No other club, organization, or group on campus is as unique as Greek Life. Greek organizations aren't merely clubs; they're the foundations for friendships that last a lifetime, and being a member of a Greek organization offers opportunities and experiences that cannot be found anywhere else at Wash U.

If you have any questions about our council, scheduled events and activities, or Greek Life in general, feel free to contact myself, or any of the other exceptional leaders on the Interfraternity Council. We also welcome any suggestions of ways in which we can improve our website for the future!

Fraternally,
Kurt Wall
